Training and Experience ![]() I have worked with people in various capacities for over twenty years. My initial training as a counsellor took place in Chicago in the United States. Upon my return to the UK in 1997, I completed a Diploma in Counselling at Roehampton University and went on to finish a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent's College, City University. More recently I completed my training as a supervisor at The Minster Centre in London. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work within their Code of Ethics and Practice. (http://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework/) Having spent fifteen years of my adult life living abroad, I have a special interest in working with cross-cultural issues. The Research Subject for my MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling focussed on the challenges of working therapeutically with people from other cultural backgrounds. I also have a special interest in working with people who have gone through traumatic experiences. As a trauma counsellor I have travelled to various parts of the world, providing care and psychological support. I also provided support in the aftermath of the 7/7 London bombings. I have worked as Project Leader and Clinical Director of a Counselling Service in South West London. |
